I have a new wig to show you all this week, and this one's a doozy! Presenting "Black Berries" by Geisha Wigs, a beautiful black and magenta ombre curled wig. It has a blunt fringe and layered soft curls, giving it an almost 50's-esque style to it - and I'm officially in love!

I want to get a little bit serious here, if I may. This week is Mental Health Awareness Week; something that hits close to my heart, and resonates so close to home. Today I'm sharing my journey with my mental health (and I guess it kind of mostly explains my absence from the blog) but please be warned the following post may upset you.

If you are struggling with your mental health, please don't hesitate to reach out to someone, or even the Samaritans if you'd like to remain anonymous, and seek help.

If you'd like to know my story, click through. No photos in this one, just text, but I'm being brutally honest here. No frills or flourishes; I've written and rewritten this post about 8 or 9 times, and I've just decided to say it like it is.

COLLECTION || The "Quirky Brooch Heaven" Edition

I'm a brooch collector. I admit it, it's out there in the open, it's said and done. I think nothing completes an outfit more or can give a little blast of personality to someone's style than a brooch. It can say so much, or just look freaking adorable. I have geeky ones, shouty ranty feminist ones (my personal favourite being "Fries B4 Guys" - yeah, I went there) and ridiculously twee vintage ones.

But for a while I've been curating a bunch of websites who stock some lovely pieces, particularly laser-cut acrylic styles, and I'd love to share them with you! May I present, the brooch collection of my your dreams!

1 || Frida Kahlo || 2 || Vintage Sewing Machine || 3 || Russian Doll || 4 || Glittery Balloon ||

5 || 50's Diner || 6 || Teapot || 7 || Lipsticks ||

8 || Penguin || 9 || Red Panda || 10 || T-Rex Skull || 11 || Skipping ||

And of course, we can't forget the collar clips - double brooch heaven, swoon!

1 || Knitting || 2 || Bats || 3 || Lipstick || 4 || Glittery Donuts ||

If I owned all of these, I'd be incredibly happy (also homeless, but WORTH IT.) so go, let me live vicariously through you, and wear ALL THE BROOCHES.

Do you have any favourites? Personally, the little diner and the lipstick collar clips are calling my name...

I've decided I'm going to start promoting some smaller businesses that are not only local, but close to my heart - ones I think you guys would love especially! First up is Metal Panda, a small cruelty free, all natural, and largely handmade beauty and health store. MP is run by one of my good friends Amanda and her partner John, in the lower levels of the Howgate Shopping Centre, Falkirk.

Amanda started Metal Panda with the idea of selling small, handmade bath and beauty products - using knowledge of how natural ingredients can work together with your body to do things that many store-bought skin care ranges try to do. No harsh chemicals, no artificial ingredients, largely vegan friendly and also cruelty free...a winner on all grounds!

From edible flavoured lip scrubs, to scrumptious bath bombs,and even delicious smelling handmade soap (seriously, they look and smell like giant sweeties!), the range is massive for such a small shop. The best part is they work just as well, if not better, than many larger stores similar to this. A perfect example of this is her Panda Balm, which is great for sensitive skin and actually works better than deep heat!

In the space of a few short months, they've went from a small Facebook selling page to a decent sized outlet in a central shopping centre, which is a massive achievement in itself. Metal Panda have also expanded to include products that you just cannot find around here, such as Manic Panic cosmetics, and a great range of Directions hair dye products.

Those of the beardy persuasion aren't left out either, they have a whole wall dedicated to men's skin care and facial grooming products; not only do these smell fantastic, Amanda keeps a huge range of essential and soothing oils, so you can pick what you need your beard care to do (moisturize, scent, soothe after shaving, etc) and it can be mixed right in front of you! Custom beard oils while you if that isn't appealing, then I don't know what is. I'm almost jealous of beardy folks...

Amanda has combined her knowledge of aromatherapy and natural properties of plants and produce, to create a stunning line of skincare and toiletries

With low prices, fantastic products, and even the ability to order online, this little business isn't just confining itself to Falkirk. Pop onto their site today, and grab yourself a wee order! Whether you want luscious bath salts, or a moisturiser that makes you smell like banoffee pie, Metal Panda is a little shop with a big future ahead of them.

Has anything caught your eye? I'm holding out for some hair dye and going to nab myself a bathbomb or three!

DISCLAIMER; I was not paid or compensated for this review in anyway shape or form, be it monetary or with products. I genuinely believe in supporting smaller businesses, and getting their name out there!

Well, no, I'm not going to Hogwarts (which at the age of 23 still totally devastates me). But if you remember a few posts back, I'd mentioned as well as entering the Simplicity Star Sewist Challenge, I applied to go to college. Now most people would read things carefully, make sure they applied for the course at the right level, wouldn't they? Well numpty pants here didn't, and instead of going for the access course I'd applied for the HND.

Thankfully they said I could use any relevant experience to back my interview up as I hadn't done the access course: and as it's a PR, Media and Marketing course I used my wee blog and articles I'd written. And they loved it! I'm going to college!

So here's an outfit post to not only celebrate this, but to celebrate finally feeling halfway human after a long bout of sickness!

Top: New Look
Swing skirt: Red Herring, c/o Debenhams
Tights: Primark
Mary Janes: Blonde&Blond/EBay
Necklace: c/o  Punky Pins

I love you, geeky bookcase. :)

I actually wore some make up today too! This virus floored all of us though, and it feels good to be able to even stand up without wobbling or running to the loo. Pretty acrylic creepy hearts are the perfect celebratory piece...

I picked up these shoes on Ebay, brand new for a fiver - and they are so unbelievably comfy! They're much more wearable than the Topshop T-bars in my opinion. They're also a bit school-girl style: a great excuse for me to get cracking on sewing some new pieces to wear to match these for college!

So yes, it's official, im returning to full time education for the first time in 7 years after the summer! I'm really excited: I can finally move onwards and upwards, and it feels like a massive achievement even going for the interview, let alone actually getting in. It feels like I can finally begin to try and get a hold of my anxiety: I can leave the house, I can go on busy trains and into strange buildings full of people I don't know, I can do this. I've got this.
So seeing as I'm currently full of GIRL POWER and feeling ready to take on the world, have a little bit of Bikini Kill to listen to, so you can feel like the ultimate bad ass too!

Do you have any good news, or has something awesome happened to you this week? Share it here!
